Book Talk: Eric Essono Tsimi on De quoi la littérature Africaine est-elle la littérature? Pour une critique décoloniale (2022)

Eric Essono Tsimi is a novelist, playwright, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Comparative Studies, at Baruch College. He has earned two doctorates (University of Virginia and University of Lausanne) in French and Francophone Studies and Cultural Psychology. He has authored ten books and more than one hundred articles in the popular press. His latest books include De quoi la littérature Africaine est-elle la littérature?” (Presses Universitaires de Montréal, 2022),  L’antiracisme rend-il heureux : race et ethnicité dans les espaces francophones, (Hermann, 2022) and  Vous autres, Civilisations, savez maintenant que vous êtes mortelles  (Classiques Garnier, 2021). His forthcoming novel is under contract with Robert Laffont, a major French publisher. Professor Tsimi is the recipient of a Humboldt Fellowship for Experienced Researchers and a CUNY Scholar Incentive Award (Spring 2023).
